Tax Preparer

Role Description

This full‑time, on‑site Tax Preparer role is located in Houma, LA. The Tax Preparer will prepare individual and business tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Daily responsibilities include gathering and reviewing client financial information, analyzing supporting documentation, and identifying applicable deductions, credits, and adjustments. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements as needed for tax filings, explaining tax results and options to clients in clear terms, and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of tax law changes.

The Tax Preparer will also assist with filing extensions, responding to tax notices, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with the team to deliver consistent, high‑quality client service.

• Strong skills in Tax Preparation and practical experience working with various types of Tax returns.
• Ability to interpret and apply Tax Law, including federal, state, and local regulations.
• Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and a commitment to accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software and common office productivity tools.
• Relevant education in Accounting or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., EA, CPA) are a plus.
• Ability to work on‑site in Houma, LA, manage deadlines during peak tax seasons, and maintain client confidentiality.
