AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Lockport, LA that is the leading provider of quality construction, manufacturing, engineering, repair, and conversion products and services to the marine industry.
A 1st Class Electronic Technician is responsible to lay out, build, test, install, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electrical and electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems.
Essential Functions- Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with Electrical Engineer.
- Develops sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
- Assembles circuitry, performs terminations or conducts testing according to engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
- Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- Sets up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life cycle tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.
- Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.
- Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system’s operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.
- Checks functioning of newly installed equipment in vessels and structures to evaluate system performance under actual operating condition.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electronic Technician.
- Ability to read and interpret drawing, schematics and other electrical/electronic technical documentation.
- Familiar with applicable commercial and Government specifications and codes.
- Comprehensive knowledge at component/system start up, testing, troubleshooting and repair.
