Network Engineer

This position can be located out of our Freeport, TX or Plaquemine, LA facilities.

• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure network infrastructure.
• Evaluate and recommend network hardware, software, and services.
• Analyze and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.
• Collaborate with systems and security teams on infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.
• Monitor network performance and implement improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and training to IT staff and end users.
• Analyze network usage trends and optimize performance and reliability.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential network risks.
• Maintain documentation of network configurations and procedures.
• Communicate planned maintenance and outages to stakeholders.
• Research and implement new technologies to enhance network capabilities.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of network data.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and lessons learned.
• Support other departments with network-related needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or other Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto equivalent.
• Experience in network architecture, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, wireless, and cloud networking.
• Understanding of organizational goals and IT strategy.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations and secure network design principles.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to research and evaluate emerging networking technologies.
• Skill in translating technical concepts into business-friendly language.
• Proficiency in technical documentation and cost analysis.
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Experience in collaborative, team-based, multi-site environments.
