Job SummaryOne of our clients is looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Application Programmer/Architect who will lead the design, development, and evolution of the company’s enterprise-grade SaaS software solutions designed for the dental industry. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of application security architecture and HIPAA compliance requirements, ensuring system solutions are designed and maintained to protect sensitive healthcare data. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable writing code, designing scalable cloud architectures, mentoring developers, and engaging business stakeholders to translate requirements into high-performing SaaS.
Key Responsibilities- Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Design – Define scalable, secure, and high-availability application architectures.
- Patterns - Define system integration patterns across SaaS, APIs, and cloud platforms.
- Standards – Establish coding standards, design patterns, and architectural governance.
- Oversight - Lead technical design reviews and provide architectural oversight.
- Innovation - Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies and tools.
- Application Development
- Development – Lead full-stack development across web and API layers
- Quality - Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code.
- Microservices - Develop RESTful APIs.
- Optimization - Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Best Practices - Implement CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops best practices.
- Cloud & Infrastructure
- Architect - Architect and deploy solutions in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Cloud Native - Design cloud-native and containerized applications.
- Business Continuity - Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Standards - Implement monitoring, logging, and observability standards.
- Requirements - Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Roadmap - Provide effort estimation and support roadmap planning.
- Mentor - Mentor and guide development team members.
- Methodology - Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
- Standards - Ensure secure coding practices and data protection standards.
- Compliance - Support regulatory and compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc. where applicable).
- Risk - Conduct architecture risk assessments.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and related experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5-10+ years of software development experience
- 3-5+ years in a solution architect or technical lead role
- Deep understanding of application security architecture and HIPAA compliance requirements, ensuring systems are designed and maintained to protect sensitive healthcare data
- Dental Practice process knowledge
- Strong experience with:
- Front end and back-end development
- Database administration
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops tooling
- Experience designing scalable SaaS or enterprise applications
- Strong understanding of system integration and API design with CRM related toolsets
- Strategic thinker with strong systems perspective
- Strong and effective communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ownership mindset and accountability
- Ability to balance speed, quality, and scalability
- Mentorship and team leadership capabilities
- Relevant certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Architect, etc. are a plus)
