Main Purpose
The Overhead Crane Technician is responsible for the inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial lifting systems. They ensure overhead cranes operate safely and comply with all safety standards to minimize downtime.
Essential Functions- Conduct routine preventive maintenance, load testing, and root cause analysis.
- Read electrical schematics, program variables, and repair motors, festoons, and pendant controls.
- Repair or replace heavy components such as gears, wheel bearings, wire ropes, hook blocks, and brakes.

- Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing.
- Turning, twisting, bending, and balancing.
- Pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with overhead crane mechanics.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Must pass a background check.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Voltage meters, pliers, screwdrivers, and all other tools used in the maintenance of Overhead Cranes.
80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors in a shop. Individuals will be required to work in changing temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc.
