Oil States Energy Services is currently hiring for a Wireline/Pressure Control Field Service Technician at our Houma, LA location.
This position is primarily OFFSHORE.
POSITION SUMMARYA Field Service Technician (FST) is primarily responsible for the installation, operation, repair, removal, and maintenance of company tools and other oilfield equipment.
- FST I Trainee
- New hire -- still considered SSE -- minimal or no field/product line experience (required knowledge testing to promote)
- FST I
- Completed on the job training in the field – could be non-SSE
- Has CDL (if required) and considered a “helper only” on location. (required knowledge testing to promote)- Land:
Completed a minimum of 3 months of on location training. - Offshore:
Completed a minimum of 2 offshore jobs of on location training.
- Land:
- Completed on the job training in the field – could be non-SSE
- FST II
- Minimum 1 year of O&G product line experience.
- Can run a shift on location without supervision, has CDL (if required) (Required knowledge testing to promote)
- Wireline: can run 10k and below jobs independently on location.
- Production Services/Frac/Isolation: can run a shift of one or more job types independently on location.
- Communicate with management daily to include, job changes, equipment needs, timelines, job issues, quality issues, customer concerns, employee concerns.
- FST III
- Minimum 2 years of O&G product line experience.
- Proficient in all product line job types, and can run all job types independently without supervision -- considered a Lead in a product line, has CDL (if required)
- Communicate with management daily to include, job changes, equipment needs, timelines, job issues, quality issues, customer concerns, employee concerns.
- FST IV
- Supervise employees and third-party vendors while on location.
- Point of contact with Customer/Company Man on any job assigned to oversee.
- Oversee and supervise equipment in the yard as it is being prepared for a job. Must sign off that all tools and equipment are correctly loaded and ready for the current or upcoming job.
- Conduct location pre-frac meetings with third party vendors and company representatives.
- Communicate with management daily to include, job changes, equipment needs, timelines, job issues, quality issues, customer concerns, employee concerns.
- Abides by all Oil States Energy Services, LLC Safety and Operational Policies and Procedures, and abide by all DOT requirements. Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.
- Must abide by all Customer Safety policies and procedures while on customers job site.
- Installs, repairs, operates, removes, troubleshoots, and maintains various company tools and equipment.
- Drives and operates mobile crane truck, pickup and trailer to deliver tools over state lines up to 70% of the time depending on district location.
- Regularly drives company vehicle in a safe manner, observing all company and government regulations, between each district and off-site locations at scheduled time.
- Regularly inspects company equipment for preventative maintenance purposes. Assures proper operation, maintenance, applications, and document repairs and/or damages of company equipment in a timely manner.
- Completes all paperwork on in a timely manner as required by company and supervisor, including preparation and timely submission of accurate and thorough completion of job reports, driving logs, trip reports and call sheets.
- Performs maintenance and reports on all company vehicles, and/or company owned and rental equipment.
- Communicate with service company and oil company personnel.
- May oversee job site services and provide direction to onsite labor when needed.
- Assists in job action planning with customer on location.
- Ensures proper delivery of product.
- Assists in the shop and make deliveries when available.
- Stay up to date on all required training (including, but not limited to, HSE, customer required, etc.). Train and mentor less experienced employees.
- Assists in pre-job safety meetings to include review of job safety analysis (JSA) process.
