Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Warehouse person I in Houma, Louisiana.
POSITION SUMMARYPerform diversified tasks related to receiving, recordkeeping, storage and dispatching to job sites of material, tools, equipment and products at the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Unload and load trucks. Uncrate or unpack items upon delivery to the facility. Inspect items for shipping damages, check items and accompanying paperwork against the purchase order.
- Mark items and materials with applicable identification numbers, i.e.: PO, job, part numbers, and place on racks, shelves, or bins, recording exact location in logbook designed for that purpose.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for material, tools or other stock items and distribute items to appropriate location either by hand, or forklift.
- Ensure all mill paper goes to QC with purchase order and job number.
- Keep the shelves, racks, and overall warehouse area clean and the floor area open to forklift traffic.
- Responsible for overall housekeeping of the warehouse storage area and dock.
- Responsible for the organization, inventory and upkeep of the steel yard.
- Coordinate with other departments concerning filling job requests, material arrival, etc.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Minimum of six months prior warehouse experience in a similar industry and a basic understanding of general inventory storage technology and procedures.
- Ability to operate hand tools, forklift, cranes and other lifting and securing devices.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic mathematical and measurement computations.
- Prolonged walking and climbing.
- Bending, standing, balancing, carrying, sitting, crouching, reaching, and kneeling.
- Ability to lift 45 pounds.
- Non-climate-controlled environment.
