Telematics Engineer

Job Overview

CDM Recruitment are recruiting a Telematics Technician to join their clients in-house team at Heathrow Airport. The role focuses on the installation, maintenance and support of telematics systems across a varied fleet of ground support and specialist equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Install telematics units across fleet and specialist equipment

Fault find, maintain and repair telematics systems

Monitor alerts and system performance via telematics platforms (Targa desirable)

Respond to on-site technical issues to minimise downtime

Take ownership of installations from planning to completion

Maintain accurate service and installation records

Work in line with health & safety and airport regulations

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• Experience in telematics, auto-electrical or electronics engineering

• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical or telematics systems

• Hands-on installation and fault-finding experience

• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals

• Full UK driving licence

• IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desirable:

Experience with plant, fleet vehicles or GSE

Airport or airside experience

Knowledge of Targa Telematics

Auto-electrical or electrical qualifications (Level 3 / HNC / City & Guilds)
