The Senior Accountant will play a key role in overseeing the day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced environment. This role is based in our Houston, TX office and will report to the Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities & Outcomes- Journal Entries:
Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. - Month‑End Close:
Manage the month‑end close process, including account reconciliations and variance analysis. - Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS. - Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making. - Account Reconciliation:
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. - Internal Controls:
Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data. - Collaboration:
Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to support business initiatives and provide financial insights. - Audit Support:
Assist in the preparation of audit materials and respond to auditor inquiries. - Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.

- Proactively work with stakeholders to solve problems in a calm and no‑blame way.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Preferred CPA or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, including journal entry preparation, month‑end close, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to multi‑task efficiently with constant regard for accuracy and quality.
- Proficiency in Net Suite or similar ERP and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small, nonhierarchical organization.
