Senior Accountant | to Jr Controller | SaaS

Known for their strong company culture, this SaaS business is in a period of massive growth and they need a hands-on Senior Accountant or Junior Controller to support and scale their accounting function. Reporting directly to the fractional CFO, this person will play a pivotal role in executing the close process, supporting audits, and owning revenue recognition under ASC 606. The company is nimble, profitable, and growing and there s a direct path for this position to grow into a full Controller role.

• Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes (improving close documentation and internal controls)
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations (AR, AP, cash management) & prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements in line with US GAAP.
• Support ASC 606 revenue recognition, including deferred revenue schedules and contract reviews.
• Track and report SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, retention).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Sales Ops, and Customer Ops on billing and pricing accuracy.
• Support the annual audit process, including documentation and auditor coordination.
• Help evaluate and enhance accounting systems and workflows.
• Mentor future junior team members as the function grows.

• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, at least 2 years in SaaS or subscription.
• Combination of accounting firm and SaaS industry experience, ideally.
• Hands-on experience with monthly close and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition.
• Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors.
• CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred.
• Track record in startup or fast-scaling environments is a plus.
• Strong GAAP understanding, attention to detail, and analytical mindset.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (Net Suite, SAP, Quick Books) and advanced Excel/Sheets.
• Experience with investor reporting, ideally.
