Accounts Payable Clerk

Description

Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Accounts Payable Clerk to join their finance team on a long-term contract basis. You will play a key role in supporting day-to-day processing of vendor invoices, payments, and related financial transactions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable working independently while ensuring the smooth operation of a growing company within the clean energy and digital infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities

+ Receive, review, and process vendor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and authorization

+ Match invoices to purchase orders, receipts, and contracts

+ Prepare and process weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers)

+ Enter and maintain accurate data in the accounting system (Quick Books, Net Suite, or similar ERP)

+ Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

+ Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical) for accounts payable documentation

+ Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting

+ Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status and invoice issues

+ Support other finance team tasks as needed (expense report processing, basic reporting)

Requirements

+ High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

+ 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting

+ Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data sorting/filtering)

+

Experience with accounting software (Quick Books, Net Suite, Sage, or similar) preferred

+ Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy

+ Strong organizational and time-management skills

+ Good communication skills, both written and verbal

+ Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion

+ Experience in construction, energy, infrastructure, or real estate industries is a plus
