This position plays a critical role in safeguarding revenue integrity, optimizing allocation accuracy, and ensuring full compliance with State, Federal, and ONRR reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Revenue Recording & Allocation
Record monthly oil, natural gas, and NGL revenue, including processing natural gas plant statements and allocating volumes and values across operated and outside-operated properties.
Manage associated accounts receivable and ensure timely collection and accurate application of payments.
- Division of Interest (DOI) Administration
Review, validate, and process DOI changes received from the Land Administration team to ensure accurate revenue distribution and owner payments.
- Gas Balancing & Imbalance Management
Monitor gas balancing positions, pipeline imbalances, and related operational data.
Prepare and record all required general ledger entries associated with imbalances and balancing activities.
- Regulatory Reporting Support
Coordinate with the Regulatory team to support compliant royalty reporting for Federal, State, and fee interests.
Assist in the preparation and validation of State severance tax filings and ONRR reporting.
- General Ledger & Reconciliation
Perform monthly account reconciliations and detailed analysis for revenue-related general ledger accounts.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation for all financial transactions.
- Stakeholder Communication
Respond professionally and promptly to inquiries from royalty owners, partners, auditors, and internal departments.
Provide analysis and support for ad hoc requests as needed.
- Process Improvement & Special Projects
Participate in system enhancements, process optimization initiatives, and special projects aimed at improving data quality, reporting efficiency, and internal controls.
A bachelor's or master's degree, from an accredited institution, in an accounting related business field (e.g., Finance), including core accounting classes relevant to the position, is required. 5+ years of oil and gas revenue accounting or comparable oil and gas accounting experience is required. CPA is a plus. Must have working knowledge of and ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles.
Must be proficient in Windows, MS Excel, and Word. Knowledge of AS400 system and MS Queries a plus. Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
