We are seeking a Senior Associate, Accounting to join our Houston Corporate Accounting Team!

Our department’s mission is to:

  • Ensure accurate, efficient, and timely monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing.
  • Provide consistent and sustainable accounting support to our Business Units.

In this role, the Senior Associate will review daily and closing activities completed by Associates and Coordinators, and serve as the primary contact for assigned Business Units. The Senior Associate will also communicate issues to the Director in a timely manner and collaborate on solutions for the Business Units.

Additionally, this role is expected to contribute expertise and lead discussions within the team, particularly during team meetings.

  • Maintain accurate and complete accounting records for the assigned Business Units in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
25% | Period-End Close and Reporting
  • Execute accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for the assigned Business Units.
25% | Business Unit Support & Stakeholder Partnership
  • Serve as a primary contact for the responsible Business Units and provide consultation, facilitation, and support on accounting, financial statement audit, and internal control matters.
25% | Team Oversight & Process Improvement
  • Plan and supervise the work of Coordinators, provide coaching & guidance, and review their deliverables.
  • Identify and implement improvement to accounting workflows, systems, and procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Years of

Experience:

At least 4-6 years of prior relevant experience, with at least 2-3 years in supervisory or managerial role.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. [Required]

Certifications/Licenses: CPA [Preferred]

Other Relevant Experience [Required]:
  • Competence in applying, researching, and documenting adherence to IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience using a major ERP system.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • Effective team collaboration skills paired with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
Other Relevant Experience [Preferred]:
  • Experience in a large public accounting firm.
  • Experience with SAP.
OTHER INFORMATION

Reports to: Manager, Accounting

Compensation: The expected base salary for this Full-Time, Exempt Houston, Texas, United States-based position is $. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in the company’s short-term incentive program with a target bonus of 10%. Compensation decisions are dependent on the specific details and circumstances of each hire, such as experience, skills, and education.
