Senior Controller

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a rapidly growing real estate and property management organization. This position plays a key role in financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and strategic decision support. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to improving systems and processes.

• Oversee and manage the month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting across multiple entities
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, audit schedules, and supporting documentation for internal and external reporting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, treasury functions, and cash flow forecasting
• Develop and maintain financial systems, reporting tools, and standardized accounting procedures
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
• Partner with leadership to establish budgets, track performance, and identify areas for improvement
• Oversee tax filings, franchise reports, and other required submissions
• Lead process improvement initiatives, software implementations, and system integrations within the finance department
• Serve as liaison with external auditors, banks, and financial partners

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
• 5+ years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting regulations
• Experience managing multi-entity accounting structures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software;
  Yardi or similar property management system experience a plus
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with precision and attention to detail
