Derivatives & Technical Accounting Manager
Our client is looking to for Derivatives & Technical Accounting Manager to lead accounting and reporting for complex financial instruments and technical accounting matters. This is a high-visibility role partnering closely with Treasury, FP&A, Legal, and external auditors in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
What You’ll Do- Own accounting and reporting for derivatives and hedge accounting under U.S. GAAP
- Prepare and review hedge documentation, effectiveness testing, and related journal entries
- Lead technical accounting analysis for complex transactions (debt, equity, embedded derivatives, business combinations, etc.)
- Research and implement new accounting standards; draft technical memos and accounting positions
- Partner with Treasury on hedge strategies, forecasts, and valuation inputs
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including disclosures
- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors on technical accounting matters
- Improve accounting policies, processes, and internal controls
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
CPA required - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong technical accounting exposure
- Hands-on experience with derivatives and hedge accounting
- Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and technical research skills
- Experience working with external auditors
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience preferred
- Public accounting background (Big 4 or national firm)
- Experience supporting Treasury or capital markets activities
- Experience in a complex or fast-growing organization
- High-impact, highly visible position
