This is a full‑time on‑site role for an Assistant Accountant at Zone Industries, located in Spring, TX.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries for month‑end close
- Complete account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Process and record cash receipts and apply payments to customer accounts
- Assist with general ledger maintenance and account analysis
- Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies
- Maintain organized records and documentation for audits and internal review
- Utilize P21 (Prophet 21) ERP software for accounting tasks (preferred)
- Build and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets for reporting and analysis
- Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, from front‑line sales to upper management.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, preferred but not required
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
- Experience with P21 software or other ERP systems (a plus)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self‑starter with a proactive attitude
- Prefer experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or wholesale environment
- Office‑based environment
- May require extended hours during month‑end or audit periods
