Tax Accountant

Tarvos Talent is seeking a Tax Accountant for a client in Houston, TX to join their team in a contract capacity. This role offers great opportunity for a contractor looking for a role for only a couple of months. If you are detail-oriented and have experience with US and Canada taxes this could be the role for you.

• Keeping your tax legislation knowledge and practice up to date

• Prepare and support timely, accurate tax filings (income, property, sales & use) for U.S. and Canadian corporate entities.
• Assist with tax registrations and respond to tax notices, audits, and related inquiries from federal, state, provincial, and local authorities.
• Perform monthly tax-related reconciliations and research, identify, and resolve complex tax filing and compliance issues.
• Monitor and stay current on tax legislation, rate changes, and new compliance requirements impacting the organization.
• Coordinate with internal departments to gather required tax information and support other tax-related duties as assigned.

• 3+ years of accounting experience; preferably with Canadian Tax knowledge
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Previous internships with public accounting firms or in-house tax departments
