Aquatech has an immediate need for a full‑time Project Accountant to work in our Houston, TX office. The Project Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will perform the duties described below.
Job Description- Develop and maintain detailed project budgets
- Investigate discrepancies between actual costs and budgeted costs, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions
- Prepare and maintain Estimate at Completion (EAC) and cash flow forecasts
- Support earned value analysis and margin analysis (where applicable)
- Track and evaluate financial impact of change orders
- Oversee project‑related invoicing, billing, and revenue recognition
- Ensure proper cost coding and financial accuracy
- Review subcontractor invoices and accruals
- Reconcile project accounts monthly
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies
- Present cost forecasts, monthly financial reporting packages, and financial analyses to operating divisions to support decision making
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in project accounting and/or cost control
- Experience in construction, EPC, manufacturing, or capital projects preferred
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition and project costing
- Advanced Excel skills
- ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Viewpoint, etc.) preferred
- Strong analytical and communication skills
