Controller job at Career Movement. Houston, TX.
A well-established, privately held automotive dealership group is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations. This is a true accounting leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced dealership environment and takes pride in accurate, timely financial reporting.
What You’ll Do:- Lead full-cycle accounting oversight (GL, month-end close, financial statements, reconciliations)
- Manage AP, AR, payroll, factory reporting, and all required schedules
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting to ownership and leadership
- Serve as the accounting backbone of the organization
- 5+ years of dealership accounting experience
- Strong, hands‑on experience with CDK GMS (required)
- Proven ability to manage the full accounting cycle independently
- High level of accuracy, accountability, and ownership
- True Controller-level accounting expertise — this is not a finance/FP&A role
