Property Accountant | Houston, TX (on-site)
As a Property Accountant, you'll play a key role in the financial management of a portfolio of commercial real estate assets. You'll be responsible for the full accounting cycle, including financial reporting, reconciliations, tenant billing, and lease administration, while partnering closely with Property Management and Asset Management teams to support portfolio performance.

What You'll Do- Full-cycle property accounting for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties
- Prepare monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
- Process and review accounts payable transactions and ensure accurate coding and approval workflows
- Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
- Administer tenant billing, including rent, CAM, NNN recoveries, and other lease-related charges
- Review lease documents and maintain accurate lease information within accounting systems
- Assist with annual operating expense reconciliations and tenant recoveries
- Support budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Prepare lender reporting packages, including debt service coverage reporting, draw requests, and compliance deliverables as needed
- Coordinate with Property Managers, Asset Managers, tenants, lenders, and third-party vendors to resolve accounting-related matters
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Leverage Yardi Voyager and Excel to support reporting, analysis, and portfolio management activities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–6 years of accounting experience, with meaningful exposure to commercial real estate property accounting
- Demonstrated experience with full-cycle property accounting: AP, accruals, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Working knowledge of commercial lease structures, CAM/NNN recoveries, and tenant billing
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Yardi Voyager strongly preferred (Commercial Management, Procure to Pay, Debt Manager)
- Highly detail-oriented, self-starter comfortable working in a small team with minimal supervision
- Experience with lender compliance reporting (DSCR packages, draw requests) a plus
