The Staff Accountant I reports to the Senior Accountant and is responsible for supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations, including transaction processing, financial record maintenance, and assisting with core accounting workflows. This position reports to the Senior Accountant, AP/AR & Payroll and works closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial operations. This role focuses on executing defined accounting processes, maintaining data accuracy, and supporting month‑end close activities.
The Staff Accountant I is expected to operate with attention to detail, follow established procedures, and contribute to consistent and reliable financial operations.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice entry, payment tracking, and basic reconciliation activities.
- Assist with payroll data preparation and validation to support accurate payroll processing.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely entry of transactions within accounting systems.
- Support account reconciliations and assist with month‑end close activities, including preparation of journal entries.
- Track and organize financial documentation to support reporting and audit readiness.
- Communicate with internal teams to resolve basic financial discrepancies and ensure alignment across transactions.
- Experience in technology, consulting, or professional services organizations.
- Exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, or payroll processes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Net Suite, Quick Books, or similar.
- Relevant accounting coursework, degree, or training.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Internship or early career experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
- Exposure to Quick Books, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or payroll processes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Net Suite or similar accounting platforms.
- Experience using Excel for basic data tracking, reconciliation, or reporting.
- Experience in technology, consulting, or professional services environments.
- Transaction Processing and Data Accuracy:
Ability to enter and maintain financial transactions with a high degree of accuracy. - Accounts Payable and Receivable Support:
Ability to support invoicing, payment tracking, and basic reconciliation activities. - Financial Systems Usage:
Ability to use ERP systems and spreadsheets to manage accounting workflows. - Reconciliation Support:
Ability to assist with account reconciliations and identify discrepancies. - Documentation Management:
Ability to maintain organized financial records to support reporting and audits. - Communication and Coordination:
