Accounting Assistant
Description
Responsible for daily accounts payable data entry and customer service resolution.
Essential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities- Complies with all quality, safety, health, environmental requirements, policies and procedures relevant to the position.
- Supports internal control efforts by diligently monitoring internal control requirements for assigned duties.
- Supports high-volume data entry.
- Understand and support 3‑way purchase order matching.
- Meets assigned weekly and monthly deadlines.
- Reconciles vendor statements to internal accounts payable aging reports.
- Files and scans accounting documents.
- Supports both email and phone customer service.
- Assists with special projects or assignments as directed by management.
Office Administration certificate from college or technical school; or at least six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications, Licenses, RegistrationsNone required.
Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast‑paced setting.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Experience with financial/general ledger systems required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Must be able to work overtime when needed during month‑end closings, quarter and year‑end reporting, audit and for special projects.
- Sit for extended periods at a desk and work on a computer.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Talk and hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Walk or stand periodically throughout the day.
- Maintain sustained concentration on computer screens.
- Work under deadlines with frequent interruptions.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
