Opportunity
Accounting Supervisor at a growth‑oriented energy company. Serve in a key role in accounting and reporting of derivatives, environmental credit reporting, leases, standalone reporting and earnings per share. Work closely with senior management and cross‑functional teams across Texas, Wyoming, Washington, Montana, and Hawaii.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries during each month‑end close and create summaries and reports for several business processes including derivatives.
- Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations for related accounts and present results to senior management.
- Review journal entries prepared by the senior accountant on the team.
- Prepare and review quarterly statutory reporting financial statements and other required legal entity reporting.
- Prepare and review reports to support external financial reporting and SEC filings, quarterly review, and year‑end audit processes with outside audit firm(s).
- Work with the manager on technical accounting research and other special projects.
- Supervise and review work completed by the senior accountant.
- Ensure adherence to and effectiveness of internal control in the area of responsibility.
- Perform ad‑hoc analyses, assist with special projects, and other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum 2 years of public accounting audit experience or 3 years of related industry experience (preferred).
- CPA obtained or parts passed (preferred).
- Advanced analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including complex spreadsheets.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English.
- Demonstrated ability to manage critical deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
- SAP knowledge/experience (preferred).
- Oil & gas industry or derivative/fair value accounting background (preferred).
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.
