Accountant, Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst

LHH is partnering with a chemical manufacturing company in Houston, TX to find a detail‑oriented and highly motivated Accountant to assist with upcoming projects! This HYBRID role, near Spring, is a contract opportunity, 6+ months with a chance of becoming permenant depending on company needs.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a strong understanding of core accounting principles, including expense vs. income classification. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Hourly pay for the Accountant ranges between $46 and $50 per hour depending on experience.

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries and general ledger activity
• Analyze and properly classify transactions, with a clear understanding of expense vs. income recognition
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Perform account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, and inventory-related accounts
• Support cost accounting functions, including tracking production costs and raw materials
• Identify discrepancies and resolve variances in financial data
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Partner with operations and production teams to ensure financial accuracy
• Assist with audit preparation and provide necessary documentation

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with expense vs. income classification and general ledger accounting
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Manufacturing or cost accounting experience is a plus
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines
