Mission Hires is hiring a Full‑Charge Bookkeeper to support multiple small business and individual clients for a growing professional services firm. This hybrid role is based in Sugar Land with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote (Thu/Fri). You’ll own the general ledger, reconciliations, AP, cash postings, client financial statements, payroll, and tax filings while providing light administrative and client communication support.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain general ledger and post journal entries
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable and process payments
  • Record cash receipts and disbursements
  • Prepare client financial statements
  • Process payroll for multiple clients
  • Prepare payroll and sales tax filings
  • Provide light administrative support (e.g., scanning, document management)
  • Communicate proactively with clients and internal team
Requirements
  • Proven full‑charge bookkeeping experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Preferred:
    Quick Books Pro Advisor certification
  • Preferred:
    Experience with Xero
  • Preferred:
    Hands‑on payroll and sales tax processing experience
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Sugar Land (3 days in‑office; Thu/Fri remote)
