Project Accountant

An established engineering and manufacturing company serving the energy sector is seeking a Project Accountant to join its growing finance team. This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to project accounting, cost tracking, financial reporting, and month end close activities while supporting a dynamic project driven business.

• Review and process vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner
• Verify supporting documentation and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Assist with electronic payments, wire transfers, and check runs
• Reconcile vendor accounts and maintain accurate records
• Support vendor communications and issue resolution

• Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance
• Assist with project setup and ongoing cost tracking
• Review labor, materials, subcontractor expenses, and indirect cost allocations
• Support project margin analysis and profitability reporting
• Work closely with project teams to ensure accurate financial data

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with month end and year end close activities
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Analyze and resolve accounting variances
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and special projects

• 1 to 3 years of accounting, AP, cost accounting, or project accounting experience
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred
• Base salary of $60,000 to $70,000
