About the Company & Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Fixed Asset / Project Accountant to assist with a large-scale cleanup initiative involving asset retirements, project accounting, and fixed asset records. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into data, resolving discrepancies, and improving accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities of the Fixed Asset / Project Accountant:
- Clean up and reconcile a backlog of fixed asset retirement projects.
- Move completed projects to the appropriate status within the system.
- Research, analyze, and resolve historical asset accounting discrepancies.
- Support fixed asset accounting activities, including additions, transfers, and retirements.
- Assist with project accounting and capital project tracking.
- Perform data cleanup and validation within SAP.
- Ensure compliance with FERC and regulated accounting requirements.
- Support special accounting projects as needed.
- 3-5+ years of fixed asset accounting and/or project accounting experience.
- Experience with asset retirements and capital project accounting.
- Understanding of regulated accounting and FERC guidelines.
- SAP experience required.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage large volumes of data.
