Senior Property Accountant

We’re currently looking for a Senior Property Accountant.

The Senior Property Accountant will perform daily property accounting duties for assigned properties, including preparing financial reports, entering journal entries, reviewing operating statements, and performing reconciliations. This role involves working with property management to ensure all reporting deadlines are met and that property owner policies and procedures are consistently followed. The company offers a hybrid working schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and adjust tenant billings
• Maintain and monitor property cash balances, including reviewing cash receipt batches.
• Approve significant accounts payable disbursements and manage weekly check‑runs.
• Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy and reasonableness of monthly Rent Roll postings.
• Prepare and review financial statements and monthly reports
• Monitor and manage property bank account cash balances.
• Assist with CAM and real estate tax escalation reconciliations.
• Calculate and initiate owner distributions as required.
• Ensure timely payment of mortgages and property taxes.
• Calculate and file sales tax.
• Maintain organized records of financial reports and bank statements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• 3-4 years of recent property management accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and current accounting methods.
• Experience with real estate accounting software (MRI, Yardi).
