SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
This is a Sr. Cost Analyst position to support cost management of EPC Projects related to LNG Facilities. The typical cost range of these projects is from $4 billion to over $10 billion. The purpose of this role is to support implementation of comprehensive cost management system. This includes budget development, cost tracking and control, cost forecasting, performance measurement and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Convert estimates into control budgets.
- Develop and manage detailed project budgets.
- Evaluate scope changes and change orders.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and analyze project performance metrics.
- Administer cost codes and track project commitments, actuals, and accruals.
- Generate reports and performance indicators including earned value, cash flow, resource histograms, and lifecycle cost performance analysis.
- Reforecast project costs utilizing performance factors, trend analysis, and sound judgment.
- Identify adverse cost and performance trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Review and analyze vendor and contractor monthly invoices.
- Support the development of Class 4 and 5 EPC estimates.
- Perform contingency analysis based on project risk registers and trends.
- Support bid evaluations.
- Develop project cash flow for cash calls.
- Prepare formal presentations and reports related to cost management activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or related field, with 10+ years of cost management and controls experience on major Oil & Gas, Power, or LNG projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, cost control, change management, earned value, forecasting, budgeting, and project controls throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Can lead development and management of project budgets, cost reporting, cash flow forecasting, progress measurement, performance analysis, contingency evaluations, and reforecasting activities.
- Administer cost control systems including cost coding, tracking commitments and actuals, evaluating change orders, reviewing contractor invoices, supporting bid evaluations, and identifying adverse cost trends.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, spreadsheets, charts, and presentations, with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Working knowledge of Power Bi.
- Travel to the project site during the construction phase may be required approximately once each month.
This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc.
This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS* Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.
* Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions.
* While performing the duties of this role, the incumbent may be required to talk or hear.
* The incumbent is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
* Ability to move throughout all areas of each office/site location and facilities.
* Able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
