Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the accuracy of accounting records. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial management. Based in Houston, Texas, this position offers an opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

- Prepare comprehensive financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.

- Oversee document control processes, including scanning and compiling documentation for record-keeping purposes.

- Implement and maintain accounting procedures to improve operational efficiency.

- Monitor and analyze financial data to support decision-making and business strategy.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and laws.

- Utilize Yardi software to manage and streamline accounting processes.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with organizational objectives.

- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering growth and development. Requirements - A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles.

- Proficiency in month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.

- Advanced knowledge of Yardi software and its applications in accounting.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

- Thorough understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
