We are seeking a highly qualified Sr. Accountant that will be responsible for performing and overseeing key accounting functions within a manufacturing environment, including general ledger activities, financial reporting, and support for cost accounting and inventory processes. This role ensures accuracy in financial records, supports the monthly close process, and contributes to continuous improvement in accounting operations. The Senior Accountant works closely with the Accounting Manager and cross-functional teams to provide reliable financial data for decision-making.
Key ResponsibilitiesMonth-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support variance analysis and reporting
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Ensure proper classification and recording of financial transactions
- Assist in maintaining the chart of accounts
- Support cost accounting processes including standard cost updates and variance analysis
- Assist with inventory accounting, including cycle counts and physical inventory
- Monitor inventory transactions and investigate discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
- Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits
- Assist in maintaining documentation for key accounting processes
- Execute and monitor internal control procedures
- Identify control gaps and recommend improvements
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
- Support system enhancements and automation initiatives
- Work with operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate financial data
- Provide support for financial inquiries from internal stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA or CMA preferred, not required
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive and continuous improvement mindset
- Accuracy and timeliness of journal entries and reconciliations
- Month-end close cycle adherence
- Audit support effectiveness and issue resolution
- Inventory discrepancy resolution
- Process improvement contributions
- Internal: FIN Department, Production Department, Legal Department, and cross-functional teams (Treasury, AR, etc.).
- External: External advisors (legal/tax/accounting), Customers, and Suppliers.
