GENERAL SUMMARY

The Plant Accounting Manager is a newly created position supporting the establishment of DeZURIK's new manufacturing facility in Houston. This role will serve as the financial leader for the new facility, partnering closely with Plant Leadership to build and stand up all plant-level accounting and finance functions. Responsibilities span cost accounting, budgeting and forecasting, inventory valuation, internal controls, financial reporting, and the development of scalable processes and systems to support the new facility.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with Plant Leadership and Corporate Controller to design and implement all plant-level accounting and finance processes for the new Houston facility.
  • Build and execute all plant finance activities, including establishing the monthly close process, developing the plant reporting package, and integrating into the plant's operating cadence with leadership.
  • Provide clear financial analysis and insights to support operational decision‑making and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and lead all cost accounting activities, including development of standard costs and ongoing monitoring of cost integrity and accurate product costing.
  • Analyze and explain manufacturing variances, including material usage, purchase price variance (PPV), labor, overhead, and absorption.
  • Monitor and support scrap, yield, labor efficiency, and overtime performance to drive operational financial discipline.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation, including reserves and reconciliation to perpetual inventory records.
  • Support and oversee cycle count processes; analyze inventory adjustments and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Establish and maintain a strong internal controls environment; ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Support audit engagements, including preparation of documentation and issue resolution.
  • Lead the annual plant budget and periodic forecast processes in collaboration with plant and finance leadership.
  • Partner with operations and engineering on capital expenditure (CAPEX) analysis, financial justification, and post‑implementation benefit tracking.
  • Set clear expectations around controls, compliance, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the plant accounting function.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with operations and influence non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with systems and advanced Excel skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
  • Position requires movement around the facilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron, and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.
