Job Title: Tax Staff
Location: Houston, Texas, United States (Full-time, Partially remote)
Reports To: Tax Partner and Manager
Job Summary: The Tax Staff will prepare US corporation, partnership, and individual tax returns.
Salary Range and Benefits: Commensurate with experience; standard firm benefits.

Required:
40 hours per week plus overtime.

MajorResponsibilities & Duties
- Prepare federal and state corporation, partnership and individual tax returns.
- Prepare international informational tax returns.
- Assist with tax planning and tax consulting projects.
- Prepare tax research memos for clients, analyzing and applying IRC sections and regulations.
- Represent clients before the IRS, including assisting in IRS and state tax audits.
- Compile and analyze financial statements.
- Perform monthly write‑up services.
- Write monthly articles regarding recent federal and state tax law changes.
- Perform other duties as necessary.

- 0-3 years of professional experience, preferably in public accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs such as Excel.
- Solid accounting skills.
- Basic understanding of federal and state income taxes.
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting or related field.
- B or above in all accounting and accounting‑related courses.
- Satisfactory cumulative major GPA.
- Advanced degree is preferred.
- CPA certification (active) preferred or working toward if not already obtained.
