Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

Description

Our client located in North Houston is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their accounting team on a 6-month contract basis. This role will support the month-end close process and day-to-day accounting operations by managing recurring journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, and supporting schedules. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and post recurring journal entries.

+ Perform standard balance sheet account reconciliations.

+ Maintain and reconcile prepaid expense schedules.

+ Process and track fixed asset transactions, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.

+ Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for month-end close activities.

+ Assist with accounting documentation cleanup and process improvements.

+ Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies.

+ Collaborate with the accounting team and provide support to the Director of Accounting as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required.

+ 3-5 years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.

+ Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets.

+

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is a plus.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

+ Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

+ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
