Accountant, Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst

Insight Global is seeking an Accountant to support inventory and revenue accounting for a marketing entity within the Products Pipeline segment for one of our top clients in the Midstream sector. This individual will play a key role in the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, performing variance analysis, and identifying any material fluctuations. You’ll partner cross-functionally with teams like Trading, Scheduling, and Business Development to support forecasting efforts and help resolve discrepancies, while also being comfortable working directly with traders.

Day-to-day responsibilities include reconciling inventory between the general ledger and external statements, reviewing and processing trucking invoices, executing counter party settlements (invoicing and payments), and investigating volume or pricing discrepancies. This role will also support severance tax reporting, maintain SOX compliance, complete balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline, and assist with quarter-end reporting and ad hoc analysis as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 5–7 years of accounting experience (corporate accounting, audit, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills (comfortable working with large data sets, reconciliations, and analysis)
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate confidently and work cross-functionally (internally + externally)
• High level of confidence and ownership mentality; prior experience in oil & gas and/or Midstream
• Audit & journal entry experience
• CPA preferred
• Experience with inventory or revenue accounting
