Accountant Position

Our client located in North Houston is seeking an experienced accountant to join their accounting team on a six-month contract basis. This role will support the month-end close process and day-to-day accounting operations by managing recurring journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, and supporting schedules. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post recurring journal entries.
• Perform standard balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Maintain and reconcile prepaid expense schedules.
• Process and track fixed asset transactions, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for month-end close activities.
• Assist with accounting documentation cleanup and process improvements.
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies.
• Collaborate with the accounting team and provide support to the Director of Accounting as needed.
