Senior Accountant - Shared Services

Harmer has partnered with our client in their search for a Senior Accountant
- Shared Services. This role is a unique accounting role focused on finance operations, process improvement, and cross-functional partnership rather than traditional GL accounting.

• Partner with internal accounting teams and third-party service providers to ensure financial operations run efficiently.
• Review and approve accounting activity while resolving operational and process-related issues.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for accounting process questions and system exceptions.
• Support month-end close activities, including journal entry review and approval.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve controls, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor service levels and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with finance-related projects, process improvements, and system enhancements.
• Build relationships across multiple departments to improve communication and operational effectiveness.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience working in a large corporate accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting operations and financial processes.
• ERP experience (SAP preferred).
• Process improvement mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.
