Project Accountant

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join a growing engineering and manufacturing organization supporting large-scale industrial and data center projects. This role serves as a key financial partner to Project Managers and Operations, providing project financial oversight from project initiation through closeout.

• Partner with Project Managers to monitor project financial performance and profitability.
• Track project costs, budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete estimates.
• Support percentage-of-completion (POC) revenue recognition and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting.
• Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly project financial reports.
• Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and project accounting activities.
• Review project budgets, actual costs, change orders, and forecasting to identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and financial controls.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, and Project Management teams to support successful project execution.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad hoc financial analysis.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of Project Accounting, Cost Accounting, or Project Financial Analysis experience.
• Experience with project/job costing, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting, and revenue recognition is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Vista, Epicor, Dynamics, or similar.
