Accountant, Financial Reporting, Tax Accountant

TBG | The Bachrach Group is partnered with one of the leading national mining companies on their search for an ACCOUNTANT I. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of general ledger / full cycle accounting and financial reporting experience within manufacturing, mining, heavy industrial and oilfield services, or public accounting. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or any related field is required.

CPA or parts passed is highly preferred.

• Perform accounting for one plant and small entities.
• Work closely with operations to track project status and analyze cost center expenses.
• Record and track assets, including additions, transfers, and disposals, and generate asset roll-forward schedules.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly accruals and reclassification journal entries, if necessary.
• Perform project billings for small projects.
• Adheres to deadlines established on the monthly close calendar.
• Participates in audits and provides necessary support to comply with requests for information.
• Assists with the development of streamlined accounting processes.
• Research accounting issues as well as complete other ad-hoc / accounting-related projects as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 3+ years of accounting or industry experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
• ERP/SAP experience required.
• Experience performing variance analysis.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Industry experience in mining/minerals, chemicals, or manufacturing is a plus.
