Technical Accounting Analyst Description – US GAAP Technical Accounting – Financial Analyst
Responsibilities- Lead technical accounting research and preparation of position papers
- Document conclusions of key judgments and estimates with management and external auditors
- Provide support to finance teams and business partners on technical accounting matters, including research, analysis, and documentation of conclusions related to contracts and operational matters and leading implementation of and compliance with new accounting requirements
- Ensure the quarterly contingency and one‑timer reporting process is executed with no exception
- Perform extensive benchmarking evaluations
- Monitor, assess, document, and communicate new GAAP, SEC and other accounting and disclosure issues
- Coordinate with various departments to assist in providing and vetting financial information
- Draft and update AFM accounting policies and memos
- Actively participate in meetings across multiple organizations, identify and solve problems
- Involve in quarter‑end close activities, including providing auditors with documentation to support accounting conclusions
- Detailed understanding of accounting rules
- Ability to consult with business leaders and influence strategic decision‑making
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and policy development
- Influence multiple organizations, interacting with managers and directors
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis
- Excellent analytical, communication, influencing, and teamwork skills
- Strong business acumen and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CA or equivalent qualification required
- 5 to 8 years of combined experience in technical accounting, including Big‑4 accounting firms and/or controllership within large multinational, publicly‑held companies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate status, issues, risks and opportunities with Corporate Financial Reporting leadership team
- Proven ability to communicate complex topics to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations
- Exposure to ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP preferred
Pay range: $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually, plus bonus and/or equity opportunities (United States of America only). Pay varies by work location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
