- Responsible for monthly and yearly accounting close processes
- Review financial statements and perform account reconciliations for irregularities
- Analyze budgets and create expense reports
- Examine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns
- Assist in financial and tax audits
- Oversee payroll and provide backup when necessary
- Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)
- Maintain job costing and related documentation
- Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders
- Review internal controls and address any deficiencies as needed
- Maintain financial data accuracy and integrity
- Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Report to the Controller and work to improve financial processes
- Accounting Degree Required
- 2-5 years of accounting experience required.
- Familiarity with job costing, WIP reporting, and construction billing processes preferred.
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus
- Experience with construction accounting software such as Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, CMiC, or similar systems preferred.
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other related MS Office products
- Knowledge of an accounting information system is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and communication skills
