LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Commercial Real Estate firm here in Houston seeking a Senior Property Management Accountant. The Property Accountant will be responsible for preparing property reconciliations, budgets and financial reports for commercial properties. This is a visible position with the opportunity to gain exposure and grow within the organization.
Primary responsibilities of the Senior Property Management Accountant role include:- Prepare journal entries to general ledger accountants
- Complete corresponding account reconciliations
- Ensuring accounting books for properties are accurate
- Enter reclasses and accruals
- Request disbursements and assign account numbers
- Provide preliminary reports for review to properties
- Coordinate closely with accounts payable team
- Manage close calendar for assigned properties
- Perform CAM calculations and reconciliations
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 3+ years of related experience in property management accounting
- Yardi, MRI or other related ERP systems experience
- Sound understanding of GAAP and use of MS Excel
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
