Job Description
Hybrid in Houston, TX. 1‑year contract with extension option; potential for full‑time conversion.
Responsibilities- Process biweekly and monthly payrolls for 1,200 to 2,000 employees located in various states, including reconciliation of earnings, deductions, and taxes.
- Run audit reports and submit payroll reconciliations to management for review and approval.
- Work with managers to ensure that non‑exempt employees’ time is approved by the established deadline.
- Enter payroll data as needed.
- Carry out payroll tax adjustments and company re‑classifications.
- Process on‑demand payments and manual payments as required.
- Handle EIB loads.
- Run and audit payroll integrations.
- Set up and audit tax and payment elections.
- Correct W‑2 forms as needed.
- Set up garnishment and tax levy schedules.
- Distribute payroll checks and pay slips to employees.
- Manage case management and the payroll help line—assist HR, benefits, and employees with payroll‑related questions.
- Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
- At least 2 years of corporate payroll processing experience.
- General knowledge of payroll principles, including overtime and tax withholding calculations.
- Excellent organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and mathematical abilities.
- Proficiency with Excel and Word.
- Excellent customer‑service orientation and work ethic.
- Effective oral, written, and listening communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Willingness to work in the office during the training period and as needed.
- Availability to work overtime when required.
