- Track financial performance and ROI for productions, fundraising initiatives, and earned revenue activities.
- Prepare revenue and expense forecasts for ticket sales, rentals, concessions, parking, and other revenue streams.
- Maintain the general ledger in Quick Books and oversee month‑end close activities.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and perform account reconciliations.
- Reconcile ticketing and contribution activity with accounting records while partnering with internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Support donor, grant, and development‑related financial reporting.
- Assist with payroll processing, annual audits, IRS Form 990 preparation, and 1099 filings.
- Research credit card discrepancies and chargebacks and prepare required financial surveys and reports.
- Process ACH and wire transactions and oversee monthly corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare materials for Finance Committee and Board meetings.
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Collaborate with leadership and cross‑functional teams to support organizational goals and special projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
- Strong working knowledge of Quick Books accounting software.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
- Understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and financial compliance preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a respected nonprofit organization serving the Houston community.
- Strategic role with visibility across finance, operations, and organizational leadership.
- Collaborative and mission‑driven culture that values innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
