Accounts Payable Specialist

Tarvos Talent is partnering with a Houston client seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their Houston accounting team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the full accounts payable cycle while partnering closely with operations, procurement, and finance to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments.

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Review, code, and enter invoices into the ERP system.
• Perform 2-way and 3-way PO matching when applicable.
• Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor records and assist with new vendor setup.
• Support month-end close by preparing AP accruals and reconciliations.
• Respond to vendor inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and efficiencies.

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience.
• Experience processing high-volume invoices.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, invoice coding, and account reconciliations.
• ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

• Experience in the energy, oil & gas, geophysical, engineering, or field services industry is a plus.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
