Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing organization in the construction industry seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with accounting leadership while supporting core accounting functions, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Support the preparation of financial statements and internal management reports
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and various balance sheet accounts
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll activities as needed
• Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Assist with job cost accounting, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and other construction-related accounting functions
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
