Location: Houston or Dallas, TX (Hybrid)
Position SummaryOur client, a nationally recognized commercial construction company with multi-state operations, is seeking a Regional Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for multiple business units. This strategic leadership role partners closely with Regional Operations, Project Management, and Executive Leadership to drive financial performance, operational efficiency, and profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead regional accounting operations, monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Oversee work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting (ASC 606), and project profitability.
- Partner with Operations and Project Management to improve financial performance, cash flow, and margin analysis.
- Review project billings, change orders, retainage, subcontractor costs, and financial controls.
- Prepare executive reporting, KPI dashboards, and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop regional accounting teams.
- Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and ERP initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership within the commercial construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP reporting, project accounting, financial planning and analysis, cash flow management, and GAAP.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.
Experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred:
Construction ERP: CMiC, Viewpoint Vista or Spectrum, Foundation, Sage 300 CRE, Sage Intacct Construction, Acumatica, Trimble Construction One, Computer Ease, Jonas Premier, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle ERP Cloud, Net Suite, or SAP.
Reporting & Analytics: Power BI, Tableau, SQL, One Stream, Hyperion, Adaptive Planning, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- $180,000 - $275,000 Base Salary (based on experience)

Compensation: $185,000 - $240,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Long-Term Incentive + Comprehensive Benefits
