LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established organization in the energy and industrial sector to identify an Tax Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional seeking broad exposure across sales & use tax, property tax, fuel tax, compliance, audit support, and tax research within a complex operating environment.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working cross-functionally with accounting, finance, and operational teams while contributing to tax compliance initiatives, process improvements, and strategic tax planning efforts.

Primary responsibilities of the Tax Analyst role include:

* Prepare, review, and support indirect tax filings including sales & use tax, property tax, fuel tax, and other transaction-based taxes

* Assist with tax compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and related accounting activities

* Research tax regulations and communicate findings to internal stakeholders

* Support responses to tax notices, audits, examinations, and inquiries from taxing authorities

* Maintain tax documentation, exemption certificates, and compliance records

* Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting indirect tax obligations

* Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to tax activities

* Participate in process improvement initiatives and help enhance tax controls and reporting procedures

* Partner with accounting, finance, and operations teams to address tax-related matters across the business

Primary qualifications include:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field

* Hands-on experience with sales & use tax, property tax, fuel tax, or similar indirect tax functions

* Strong understanding of tax compliance, reporting, audits, and tax research

* Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries

* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
