Staff Accountant

An established and growing company in West Houston is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and reclassifications
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Perform balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
• Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate variances
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules
• Reconcile prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects
• Support external audits by preparing requested schedules and documentation
• Monitor compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects
