Cindy Bradley at Robert Half is actively recruiting for a Staff Accountant located in NWEST Houston. Our client is a large, private equity-backed manufacturing equipment company with a strong market presence and a commitment to operational excellence. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their accounting team.
Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the Accounts Payable and invoicing functions within a high-volume transaction environment. This position is ideal for an accounting detail oriented who is comfortable working with both automated and manual processes, has strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices (approximately 800 invoices per month)
- Review, code, and enter invoices accurately and timely
- Process customer rebates, credit memos, and adjustments
- Support accounts payable activities, including vendor communications and payment processing
- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate invoice discrepancies
- Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
- Work within a legacy DOS-based Oracle system and support manual accounting processes as needed
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and customer service teams to resolve invoicing and payment issues
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls
- Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives
